Richard Hurst (Director)

richard hurstRichard founded RAH Consultancy over 13 years ago. He is highly knowledgeable and respected in the water industry, Richard has over 27 years experience in all aspects of Water Regulations and Building Regulations compliance. He started in the late 80s working with the team of the Water Research Centre where he advised the Water Undertaker's inspectors with regard to Water Regulations and their predecessor, Water Byelaws. He works both in the UK and abroad. He has the honour of being a fellow of CIPHE, and is an Incorporated Engineer. He is also an incorporated marine engineer which provides him with additional skills relevant to water engineering.

Richard’s specific core skills include:
  • The design of water fittings and systems.
  • Advising on water fittings and system failures.
  • Development and implementation of British, European and Industry Standards for water systems and fittings.
  • Development of test equipment for the testing of water systems and fittings, to assess their performance and fitness for service.

Ian Rhys Lewis MNI (Associate)

His role with the MCA entailed the survey and inspection of UK vessels, Port State Control, ISPS surveys, and MLC inspections. Ian was also a Lead Auditor for the ISM Code, an Examiner of Masters & Mates and has been involved with the flag-in of vessels to the UK Register.

Prior to working ashore Ian had been at sea since 1970 gaining experience on Product tankers, Dry Cargo, Reefer, Container, Ro-Ro, Cable and Drill ships as well as small craft such as an Inshore Fishery Patrol Boats and a small passenger carrying Hovercraft. Ian has also served as Master on Product Tankers.


Ian’s specific core skills include:
  • The ability to undertake ISM and ISPS Audits and MLC 2006 Inspections

Owen Rhodri Jones

Owen has been working at RAH Consultancy for a number of years. Owen passed the Water Regulations Course with flying colours back in November 2014, furthering both his knowledge and understanding of the subject.


His interests include extreme sports, travelling and nature conservation.


Owen’s specific core skills include:
  • Water Regulations Advice
  • Site Inspections

Owen has recently been heavily involved in an ongoing project regarding a significant legionella incident.

Tom Dunlop


Tom, like Owen has undergone training within the Water Regulations and CSCS Health and safety. Tom has worked for RAH Consultancy for over 3 years. Tom has been an integral member of RAH Consultancy dealing with all aspects regarding business finances, accounts and business enquiries for RAH Consultancy.


Tom has a soft spot for classic performance cars and regularly trains as a powerlifter.

Aneta Skacelova


Annie moved to the UK over three years ago to work as an Au Pair in Worcstershire from the Czech Republic. Over time she has come to see Britain as a permanent home and she has now settled in Abergavenny. Annie has studied Economics at Silensian University, School of Business Administration in which she has been awarded BA. Aneta manages the Business accounts and is RAH Consultancy's Business Secretary. 

Annie loves travelling, horseriding and traditional Czech baking.  











All RAH staff members have undergone testing to CSCS standards and are registered under the UK Plumbing, Heating and Mechanical Engineering Services Registration Scheme.
