RAH Consultancy at BK Business Conference 2016RAH Consultancy enjoyed their time at the recent B&K Conference at The Belfry in early October. This year the conference took place at a new venue and was as usual a thought provoking event, though not without controversy. The afternoon's conference on BIM was particularly useful. Richard Hurst of RAH Consultancy is now a "Ciphe Registered Plumber"

ciphe logoWhere works have been carried out by, or under the direction of RAH Consultants, we are able to offer Richard Hurst to "sign-off" water installations without having to call a Water Regulations inspector to examine the completed works. This should result in both time and cost savings for RAH Clients.

 

RAH helps Mace complete "sign-off" for all floors of South Bank Tower

Mace LogoRAH Consulting is advising Mace on water regulation approval for the South Bank Tower. We are pleased to announce that Mace have recently achieved "sign-off" by Thames Water inspectors for all floors of completed apartments. This project has been completed ahead of schedule and our work has helped Mace to achieve a completed water system without the necessity for a third fit.

 

RAH invited to new CIPHE technical group

ciphe logoRAH was recently invited by CIPHE to become a member of a group to discuss technical issues related to the institute. Richard Hurst has agreed to write a number of articles for the journal relating to water regulatory issues.

fm mattsson logoAfter our recent visit to Sweden to advise tap manufacturer FM Mattsson we are pleased to announce that we have gained them TMV2 AND TMV3 approvals for their latest products. We are continuing our relationship and are currently proud to be undertaking further water regulations consultancy with this leading Swedish manufacturer.

  • Sourcing a Water Regulations Compliant Water Softening device
  • Liaising with the manufacturer/installer
  • park house water softenersProduction of layout drawings
  • Coordinate the Technical Submittals
  • To liaise with Thames Water Regulators
  • To organise the factory testing of the proposed units
  • To undertake site inspections of the system at regular intervals up to the acceptance and signing off of the installations by Thames Water Regulators
  • General advice in dealing with Thames Water Utilities Water Regulations Department.

 

Richard Hurst writes "The Dangers of Scalding" article for CIPHE Journal

ciphe logoRichard Hurst FCIPHE, IEng, IMarEng, MIMarEST says that the most effective measure to prevent scalding is by limiting the outlet temperature of the hot water, and the best device to do this is the thermostatic mixing valve (TMV).

“It is important that the valves are installed in a system where the limits of operation are known.”

"Warning! Thermostatic mixing valves MUST be maintained every 12 months."
